Leon’s Way – Sunniva Dee

leon's way

This book was bought by me. All thoughts are 100% my own.

Stunning club owner Leon keeps his world on a tight leash. He subdues his past by means of deviant sex, his martial arts, and his motorcycle. But when destiny throws him curve balls at the hands of a beautiful employee and a dying tormentor, he loses his precious control.

I’m Leon, number one object of Deepsilver’s rumor mill. Owner of student hotspot, Smother.

Since I was sixteen, the world has been mine. I do everything—
My way.

Every co-ed in town clenches her thighs over me, but most don’t fit the bill. See, I like my girls broken. Once I detect my shade of don’t-give-a-shit damaged, I fight hard, I fight dirty, and I don’t give up until—
I conquer.

Drunk fathers and frequent beatings don’t merit attention, but when my despicable dad starts the process of croaking, I’m forced to remember. Thus, the downward spiral begins: my latest broken-girl turns the tables on me and splits. My hot-as-hell employee, Arriane, throws me the curve ball of a lifetime. And suddenly—
I’m out of control.

But at the center of my chaos, she exists. Always close, always sweet, and so beautifully fu*king… wholesome. She represents everything I’ve shied from in a woman. Still—
I crave her.

I’m Leon, and I don’t deny my cravings. Just—this girl is not surrendering. So here I am, fighting harder. Fighting dirtier. And goddammit all, I will—

My Thoughts

This book opens up with Leon having a meltdown of epic proportions. He locks a chick in the stockroom, goes to kick a guy’s behind, it was bad. Then we meet up with Arriane. She’s locked herself Leon’s apartment (which is located over his bar/club) with him….alone. He’s throwing stuff, having a regular fit. Thing about Leon is…he’s haunted. He’s chased by demons and when his temper gets the best of him, there are only 3 things he can do to tame it back down. Attack his bags in the “bag room”, take off on his motorcycle for parts unknown at unholy speeds, or to have crazy sex. And that’s what happens. She’s locked in to keep him from taking off on his bike and potentially killing himself or others in an accident and to prevent him from finding Dominick and Pandora. Arriane has been in love with Leon for years. She’s tended bar for him and all he’s ever recognized her for is her non-stop work ethic…until that night. And when he turned his sights on her, sparks flew. Leon respects Arriane, which is wildly different from his attitude with everyone else that he’s close to. And their story is full of stress and drama (most of which they had no control over). But once Leon’s in….he’s IN. Once he’s made his mind up. HIS MIND IS MADE.

In this book, you’re introduced into a variety of characters that are very intriguing. There’s Christian, Shannon, Ingela (HOLY COW! She cracked me up!), Cameron, Pandora, Dominick, and Katsu. There is already a story for Pandora and Dom. And I heard that there were stories in the works for Ingela, Cameron, and Katsu (at least).

Ms. Dee wrote a very intense story. And though you expect it to be intense because the blurb expresses how intense Leon is. But it is the mere surface. There’s so much depth to this book. I will say that Ms. Dee handled it gently and didn’t get too graphic or too dark with it. She told it from the pov of someone who wasn’t directly involved but was directly affected by it. Which is often a very overlooked element. I will say that I really enjoyed this book. I found the characters a little over the top at times, but they were all oh so lovable. Especially Lyric. I just wanted to pinch his chubby cheeks! Would I recommend this book. Yes I would. I would warn people though of the darkness in the book, because some can’t handle it. I would also make sure the person is ok with some graphic, kinky sex scenes, because it has that too (though according to Leon, it’s quite vanilla). But adults who are ok with all that will get the recommendation from me!

About the Author

I’m originally from Norway and moved to the United States twelve years ago. I have a Master’s degree in languages and taught Spanish at college level before settling in as an adviser at an art college in the South.

I write New Adult fiction with soul and meaning. Sometimes it has a paranormal twist–like the Amazon bestsellers Shattering Halos and Stargazer, released by The Wild Rose Press. Pandora Wild Child, a New Adult college novel, was released in October 28th, and triple bestseller Leon’s Way, I published December 19th, 2014.

I specialize in impulsive heroines, bad-boys, and good-boys running amok. Then, there’s the intense love, physical and emotional attraction–sensory overload for the reader as well as for the characters. Like in real life, I hope you’re unable to predict what comes next in my stories.

Yes, so I write what I love to read, and depending on the reader, you’ll find my books to be a fast-paced emotional rollercoaster–or disturbing because the struggles of love aren’t your thing. As some of my fans have stated in their reviews: these books are not for the faint at heart. 😉
