One summer night…
Jenny Young fulfilled every girl’s most sizzling fantasy the night she ended up with mega movie star, Simon Mercer, in her bed. It was hot, it was intimate, it was the stuff of dreams.
One big mistake…
Until the next morning, when Simon skipped out on her. Nine months later, Jenny’s whole world changed when her son was born.
One last chance…
Now Simon is back, hoping to make up for his mistakes and prove he’s turned over a new leaf. But winning Jenny back won’t be as easy as he thinks. She has more to lose than just her heart this time, she has her son.
Are second chances only the stuff of Hollywood dreams, or can Simon make that one night into a promise of forever?
PLEASE BE ADVISED: Steam level – very hot
We actually met Jenny and Simon in Summer With a Star. But that was last year and a lot has happened in that time. Simon went to work on his personal demons and Jenny…well, Jenny delivered an amazing bundle of joy. When they come together again for a wedding, sparks fly, tempers flare and passions ignite.
I really felt for Jenny in this book. For the woman who was so self assured and had it all going on in Summer With a Star, she really has had her world turned upside down and she’s still not able to get her bearings straight. That poor girl couldn’t win for losing. Simon really was a different man in this book than what we saw in Summer With a Star. And the way he took to finding out being a father was awesome and made me wish more men were…well, men. These two had a lot of misunderstanding and hurt feelings to overcome, on top of a very spiteful individual before they could truly be free to act on the feelings that they obviously had for one another.
Ms. Farmer continues to grow this little world on the coast of Maine. And as she continues to do so, she introduces such wonderful characters, like Daniel and Mr. Oliver. There were a few that I was REALLY not keen on. Now, I’m really curious to know who the next book is going to be about. Because it could be a couple of people, but no one really stands out in my mind. Ms Farmer has as much a flair for contemporary romance as she does for western romance. As with her other books, I can’t wait to see where this leads us. So, question is, would I recommend this book? Oh yes I would! 🙂 We not only get to see what happens between these two, but we get to revisit Spence and Tasha from book 1. I would make sure that those I recommended it to were able to handle some graphic words and some heat. But it’s far from being bad.
