Storm’s younger cousin.
Vandal’s little brother.
You’ve met him in the background.
The sweet one.
The nice one.
The one they can all rely on.
The good one.
He’s a tattoo artist. He plays metal and classical music – on the violin.
He’s got a body built for sin.
In comes Ivy. She’s a 36 year old single mom who hasn’t dated in 18 years.
All she wanted was a tattoo.
She got a helluva lot more 🙂
Being good has never been so bad.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.***
We meet Ivy at the worst possible moment of her life. She is overhearing her husband’s conversation with another woman. A conversation that he should only be having with Ivy. Of course she’s devastated and she’s left picking up the pieces of his leaving. And she’s not the only one dealing with this aftermath, her children are too.
We meet Lukas when he realizes that he’s wanting the real deal. He wants to settle down.
On a wild whim, Ivy goes into a unique tattoo shop to get something she’s always wanted. And that’s how they meet. And that’s just the beginning of their whole adventure.
Lukas is a man who knows what he wants. He might be young, but he’s experienced more in his short years here than most people do their entire lives. And this includes Ivy. Ivy is lost. She’s trying to rediscover herself after having devoted 20 years of her life, 18 of which she was married, to the same man, sharing the same goals. She’s 36 with a 17 year old daughter. He’s 24 who’s done playing games.
I really felt this book. I won’t go into it here, but I could really identify with both Ivy and Lukas. I also loved how dedicated Lukas was when he set his mind on Ivy. It’s comforting to know that books are being written about wild alpha men who are dedicated, and romantic once they set their sights on the one they want. This is the first book of this series that I’ve read, though I know that Storm and Vandal both have stories already. Vandal breaks my heart. I don’t know if I could read his story.
Ms. Cole has created a really exciting world filled with old world love and fidelity. I really enjoyed the book and the characters she created in this book. I will say, I’m definitely interested in reading the rest, even though I just said I wasn’t sure about Vandal’s book. I’ll read it. Trust me. So, would I recommend this story? For Ray alone, I would recommend this book. LAWL! I would make sure that those buying it would know that the nookie in here is hawt. Oh holy moly! When super sweet Lukas goes bad…oh does he go BAD….His line about why he lives in a church…OH MY GOODNESS! Spank my butt and call me Charlie! (NOT the line! just my reaction.) So definitely for the adult crowd.

I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts. My debut series, Ashes & Embers, follows the lives of rock band members as they find, and sometimes lose, the loves of their lives.
My first novel in the Ashes & Embers series, Storm, was published in September of 2014 and book 2, Vandal, was published in February 2015 with several more of this series planned throughout 2015.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
