Becca Green’s life is perfect. The perfect town, the perfect family, and the perfect friends. But when Jayden Wright sneaks into town, Becca can only watch as he tears her perfect world apart.
But when her family is attacked, Becca has to decide if she can trust Jayden. As she learns his secrets, she learns that her family has secrets of their own…and that this is just the beginning…
Stolen is the first book of a four book series and ends in a cliffhanger.
This book takes place a couple of decades after Finding Grace. At first, I was a wee bit confused by it, but it cleared up quickly, so no worries. Becca is working on her Masters at Yale. Her life consists of school and friends and her family. When Jayden shows up, it throws that all in turmoil. He tells her things that couldn’t possibly be true, and if they were, what happens next?
This is a really quick read at only 100ish pages. The author is clear that this ends in a cliffhanger. It wasn’t so much of a cliffhanger as a simple drop. Like someone nodding off in the middle of a good story. It wasn’t at a hook, it was just in the middle of a thought. She’s a new author, so these are learning moments. Overall the story was interesting. We haven’t really ran into anyone from the prequel yet, but Grace is supposed to show up in the next book. I completely understand Becca. I wouldn’t have believed Jayden either. He was telling her some crazy stuff that was counter to EVERYTHING that she grew up knowing as truth. Told to her by those that she’s known her whole life and only have her best interests at heart. Jayden was really creepy from her POV for a while. But things happen, and you realize that he’s a genuine and lovely guy.
Ms. O’Donoghue’s story of shifters and the humans that surround them is growing by leaps and bounds. I’m interested in knowing who this Savannah is and how she and Becca factor into everything. So, question is, would I recommend this book? I would.
